Free Union, Virginia

A retired couple moving to the area found a home site in Free Union framed by an existing pond and log cabin. The design strove to frame views and align its overall planning with site features. The central hall on axis with the log cabin crossed by the view alignment to a mountain ridge beyond organizes all of the living spaces inside and out. Casual forms blended with refined detail make this design a place to call home.
